Pasta Bake – Slow Cook
Cook time – 1 and 1/2 to 4 hours
1 pound of ground turkey or ground beef
1 onion, chopped
2 Tablespoons of Olive Oil (only if using ground turkey)
1 package of taco seasoning
1 can of favorite pasta sauce (we use Prego Traditional)
3/4 cup of water
8 oz of elbow macaroni, uncooked
In a skillet, brown the meat and onion in the oil. Do not use oil if using ground beef (ground turkey has almost no fat and needs the extra oil to keep from being dry).
Drain the meat if you used ground beef.
Add the taco seasoning, pasta sauce, and water to the meat and simmer for 15 minutes.
Put the meat mixture into your crockpot. Add the pasta and mix. Cook on high for 1 and 1/2 hours or on low for 4 hours, until pasta is tender.
We serve with salad and rolls (or cornbread).
